Joanna is a super sweet, chunky girl who may seem cautious at first when meeting new people, but she quickly warms up once she feels comfortable. Although she looks like a German Shepherd, her mom is part Pyrenees, and her suspected father is a Bloodhound from down the street! Joanna loves her toys, especially chew toys and ropes, and enjoys playful wrestling matches with her siblings. She’s extra snuggly with her smallest sister in the playpen.
Once she gets to know you, Joanna is incredibly affectionate and loves to snuggle—though she’s not a fan of being picked up. She’s always excited for treat time and meals, and she enjoys being part of whatever’s going on around her. Joanna is a puppy and used to being around her siblings. Having dog sibling in her forever home will make her a happy girl.
Joanna and her family were living under a house in a poor part of Texas before coming into foster care. She was a little sickly since she was living under a house before coming into foster care, but she’s getting healthier every day.
Joanna spends most of her day running around and playing with her siblings and sleeping. Her least favorite part is when they get put back up in their playpen because it means it is quiet time. She is very clumsy and enthusiastic. Joanna doesn’t like to be picked up, so when she senses you are about to, she will run and try to dive under the nearest table to hide.
Joanna is fine with kids, but she is a very young puppy and very mouthy with her sharp teeth. She does well with redirection, but will need a family committed to continuing her puppy training. She doesn’t necessarily need someone who works from home, but she is a puppy and does need the time necessary for potty training and basic obedience.
If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate, and energetic puppy to join your family, Joanna might be the perfect match for you!
Joanna is from Texas.
