My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Girlie Roux is a super duper friendly 2 year old girl who is 50 pounds of love. She is so affectionate with everyone, and she is gentle with other dogs of all sizes and ages. She has impeccable house manners and gets gold stars every day in her foster home! Girlie is even learning to jog along on a leash next to her foster mom when she goes biking!
Girlie’s foster mom says “This girl is the best of both worlds - fun and exciting with an adventurous spirit, then gentle and respectful when needed. She loves to run and play, she loves to swim in our pond, and if she could find a forever canine brother or sister in her new home it will make her very happy. She loves everyone she meets. She has the utmost respect for children and elderly people. Girlie loves kitties and chickens too and wants to play with them, but a simple “leave it” command and she turns back around to tell you she's a good girl for listening!!”
Girlie is crate trained and housebroken. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vetting. If you’d like to make this all-around wonderful girl a member of your family, please email bigyellowdog.wendy@gmail.com for an application.

Go meet their pets

We are a foster home and sanctuary based network. There is no one particular facility that the general public can visit. All potential adopters should contact the rescuer posting a pup.

Please remember that we are a network of rescuers with uniform vetting, quarantine and wellness care. Our network includes volunteers in many states primarily the eastern seaboard and New England providing foster or sanctuary care.

More about this rescue

PHILOSOPHY : Based on an Albert Schweitzer quote

" THINK OCCASIONALLY OF THE
SUFFERING OF WHICH
YOU SPARE YOURSELF THE SIGHT."

Double Dog Rescue works with a network of excellent rescues in rural America to help alleviate the massive problem of pet OVER- population. The volunteers we work with are inundated with dogs and puppies that otherwise would be euthanized in local shelters It is a deeply saddening fact that dogs and puppies are euthanized for no other reason than simply lack of space, lack of compassion, no regulating laws. We are working towards a NO KILL SOCIETY. Until this goal is acheived we will continue to aid rescuers in rural areas place loving dogs into approved homes where they can be valued family members.
