JACK NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Jack Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd and retriever mix
Best Guess for Age: 5 years as of October 2024 SEX: Male
Approximate Weight: 65 lbs
Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids but he can be tested. We do not recommend him for a home with cats.
Currently Living at: DC area boarding partner -- needs foster or forever home!
Jack is Looking For: His forever home. Through no fault of his own, this VERY GOOD BOY ended up in the shelter. He's well out of the puppy yips and knows what's most important in life - being safe and loved and under his own roof. He's ISO his own humans for long sniffy walks and world exploration. But more than any of that - he wants to once again be a loyal companion, to know where he belongs.
What do you say? Is Jack the one you see by your side? Are you his new chapter?
What My Foster Says About Me: Jack is a sweet boy who is trying to figure out if he is a lapdog or not. He is calm, gentle and very aware of his size, giving gentle nudges with his nose and taking treats from your hand with a soft touch. Jack walks well on the leash, responding to gentle correction and his name when he starts to pull. He enjoys playing with toys chewing, tossing and playing tug. He does well with dogs of all sizes, greeting with gentle sniffs and nudges. Jack slept through the night in his crate without barking. He rides well in the car. When Jack looks you in the eyes, you can feel the love he wants to share.
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
