JAZZY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Jazzy Best Guess for Breed: Lab and shepherd mix
Best Guess for Age: Will be about 2 years old in November 2024 SEX: Female
Approximate Weight: 35 lbs
Gets Along With: Jazzy does well with other dogs and needs to go to a home with a welcoming resident dog! We haven't seen her with cats but she can be tested.
Special Adoption Considerations: Because Jazzy is shy, she needs to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog. We would be cautious placing Jazzy in a home with children under 12 years old because young kids can often scare shy dogs with their level of energy or noise. Children would need to be supervised closely to not leave doors open and should never walk the dog without an adult holding the leash. We would be happy to discuss this more in depth with any applicant.
Currently Living at: DC area foster home
Jazzy is Looking For: Her forever home! This happy young girl wants nothing more than to trot through the world with confidence, but right now she hasn't had enough experience in new places. She's looking for extra loving and patient humans who will show her the world at her pace, and a welcoming resident dog who will show her how to dog. Ultimately, she wants sniffy walks, romps in local parks, and all the adventures her family can dream up! Exploring all the toys also sounds great, as well as some delicious kibble and a cushy dog bed.
Most of all, though, she wants to know she's safe and loved and under her own roof every time the sun goes down. In exchange, she promises adoring gazes, cuddles, and loyalty for all her days. What do you say? Can you see her trotting by your side?
What My Foster Says About Me: 'Beautiful Jazzy has spent most of her young life in a shelter, so she has a lot to learn about life on the outside. She hasn’t even been taught to sit yet (working on it now!); toys are a mystery to her; and strangers are a bit intimidating, but one thing she already knows is how to be grateful. Her favorite way to spend the day is to hang out on the back porch, taking in the fresh air and watching the squirrels and birds go about their fall chores. She is enjoying her neighborhood walks more each day and she has graduated from sleeping alone in the kitchen hallway to happily joining us in her dog bed upstairs. She is thrilled by treats and meals, and she is (almost) rolling over for pets! For these small pleasures that other dogs may take for granted, Jazzy shows her gratitude with excited greetings after I come home, thumping tail wags, big toothy smiles, and gentle kisses. I am so grateful to be able to start to show this very sweet dog what her life should be like. Her forever family will be so lucky to show her the rest of the way.'
