CORNELIA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name:  Cornelia        Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd and retriever mix

Best Guess for Age:  1 year 2 months as of October 2024       SEX:   Female

Approximate Weight:  33 lbs

Gets Along With:   Other dogs! We haven't seen her with kids or cats but she can be tested if you have them

Currently Living at:   DC area foster home.

Cornelia is Looking For:   Her forever home! She landed in the shelter through no fault of her own and is oh so eager to once again have her own humans for sniffy walks and all the adventures they can dream up. She's pretty young, just over a year or so, and is eager to see and experience the world! To explore all the toys! To go to dog school to learn to be the bestest girl! And to make new pup and people pals along the way!

What she wants most of all, though, is to love and be loved, to know where she belongs, to know she's under her own roof every time the sun goes down. In exchange she promises adoring gazes and happy tail wags and snuggles and loyal companionship. What do you say? Is Cornelia the companion you have been seeking?

What My Foster Says About Me:  Cornelia is a sweet and loving girl. She has clearly experienced some trauma and can be a little shy at first - it takes her some time to warm up to new situations, but when she opens up she is energetic and playful. She is also a great snuggler and getting along with both the resident dog and 8 year old child in the home! She is working on her potty training consistency and getting better everyday. She is a smart, engaged and sweet girl and anyone would be lucky to have her join their family!

Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!

Go meet their pets

Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at www.luckydoganimalrescue.org.
