BANJO NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: BanjoBest Guess for Breed: Terrier mix, maybe with some Jack Russell
Best Guess for Age: 1 year 8 months as of October 2024SEX: Male
Approximate Weight: 24 lbs
Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids or cats but he can be tested if you have them.
Currently Living at:DC area foster home.
Banjo is Looking For: His forever home! Through no fault of his own, this small sweetie ended up in the shelter. He is full of fun, young dog energy and is ready to have his own humans to trot alongside on sniffy walks, romps in local parks, and all the adventures they can dream up! He would love to make new pup and people pals along the way. Exploring all the toys also sounds great, as well as some delicious kibble and a cushy dog bed.
Most of all, though, he wants to know he's safe and loved and under his own roof every time the sun goes down. In exchange, he promises adoring gazes, cuddles, and loyalty for all his days.

What My Foster Says About Me: Banjo is an energetic little dog who gets bored easily. Mental stimulation will be very helpful, along with plenty of exercise. Banjo can get a bit mouthy when he's excited but he redirects easily if you offer him a toy. He's smart, eager to please, and treat-motivated, which make him easy to train.
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!
