My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.

* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.

This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, December 21st and Sunday, December 22nd from 12-3pm or until adopted. If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.

Adoption Fee: $650

Meet Orion, the sixteen pound wonder with an underbite that's cuter than a comet and eyes that could charm the moon! This 1 year old Miniature Schnauzer-Yorkie mix was rescued from a hoarding situation and is now ready to shine brighter than ever in a forever home as fabulous as he is.

Orion may have started his journey a little timid, but he's blossomed into a confident pup who struts around town in a wardrobe of stylish coats and sweaters like the dapper dog he is. His personality is as stellar as his name: part shooting star, part lovable lap dog. With energy for zoomies when it's playtime and a penchant for cuddles when it's mellow time, Orion has mastered the art of balance. Plus, he's a total brainiac! Training sessions with this food-motivated boy are like launching into orbit—they’re out of this world fun!

His daily routine? Orion wakes up at 7 AM, tail wagging like a metronome, goes for a brisk potty walk, and devours breakfast with gusto. During work hours, he’s a pro at snoozing under desks and being the world's best work buddy. Afternoons include more walks, some toy-tackling, and a few naps sprinkled in. Evenings mean dinner, another walk, and couch snuggles galore before bedtime around 11 PM.

Orion’s a social butterfly who gets along great with dogs, tolerates cats with polite indifference, and adores people of all ages. He’s leash-ready but could use a bit more training to become a sidewalk superstar. Orion is perfect for a loving family with prior dog experience and kids over six who are ready for cosmic cuddles and endless fun.

Ready to add a little star power to your life? Orion’s your guy—come find your new favorite constellation!

Orion is an option for homes with recent dog owning experience. Kids should be over the age of 6.

More about this rescue

We are passionate folks who love dogs and love people! We strive to make the most appropriate match between human and canine. Because our dogs live in foster homes we know about their temperament and personality and therefore can help families and individuals decide if the dog is a good match or not. We are excited to help people find the right pooch for them and look forward to meeting great folks and welcoming them into the DPS Family.
