ELMO - 1-5 years old, 71 pounds, pulls hard on a leash, very excited boy!
The more I spend time with this boy, the more I love him!
Elmo is a large and strong boy. He pulls on the leash. He wants to chase those squirrels and birds and anything else he spots while on a walk. You better be ready when taking him outside! His energy will show for sure!
Elmo arrived as a stray so we are learning more about him every day. He was so nervous behind the cage bars, it took a hot minute for him to start allowing us to handle him.
It's now a (funny, I'm sure) wrestling match sometimes when trying to harness him bc he is so excited to get outside.
He loves to chase tennis balls but does not want you to steal it back from him. Having two or more balls available is the trick! He quickly learned to bring it back and 'drop it' in order to chase another. Don't try to take it away from him, it's his! LOL
Elmo may not want you to steal his food either so management will be necessary.
Elmo has tried our shelter playgroup and we have found him to be friendly to some dogs but he does get a bit over stimulated sometimes and bc he's a big boy, he is strong and can be overpowering.
Elmo is currently in a back kennel so if you don't see him, please just ask!
