What is Rehome?
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
I took in Peanut after her owner, my family member, suffered a medical event and is no longer able to care for her. I cant keep her forever though because I already own two timid cats, who she barks at and goes up to, which scares them into hiding. She has lived with both a golden retriever older than her, and a pug mix younger than her without any issue.
Peanut is a very loving dog and seems to prefer being with people over anything. She is better off leash than on when outside, and I never worry about her going too far. Peanut loves playing fetch, especially with sticks. She has a beautiful coat, that does require some maintenance to ensure it stays mat-free, but it is not difficult to brush or bathe her.
Unfortunately, Peanut does suffer from some separation anxiety. I am actively working on crate training her, so that way she can be left alone safely. Her next owner should have a good understanding of dog training and the importance of consistency.
