My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Roo is a VERY loving, sweet, people and dog friendly 10month old neutered male looking for his forever home. He arrived from Beaumont Texas on 9/28/24.

If you are looking for a grade-A snuggler who loves to give sweet kisses Roo is your boy!! Roo is a smart boy who is eager to please and responds well to praise, treats and resident dog’s corrections! He already keeps his crate clean and is good when left out of crate with proper exercise and brain stimulation! He’s even mastered potty training with a structured routine! He’s a healthy boy who loves food and does not have any allergies!

Did you say Squirrel! Chase! Run!? Roo loves a chance to chase after a squirrel or doggie friend at the park! In fact, he would love his own fenced in yard! Typical, to his breed, he likes to mouth his friends ankles to get them to play! Roo is very athletic & can jump really high when excited. Because he is a young strong boy, he would benefit for continued leash training.

Roo has learned growing up in the shelter to self-play with toys of any kind and he has yet to destroy them! This boy loves adventure and riding in cars, but doesn’t quite have perfect manners.

Roo’s ideal home would include: an active individual/ couple or family with dog-savvy kids, lots of toys/stuffies and another playful doggo (or 2).

Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age-appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping.

We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed. An application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee adoption but does allow us to begin the review process. Please understand we must meet your entire household, including dogs, before an adoption will be approved.

Please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org for an application or additional details.
