My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Animal Profile: Carmelio is a 2-year-old, 12 lb Chihuahua mix that was picked up as a stray in San Bernardino. He was totally shut down in the shelter environment, and was at risk for euthanasia due to space. Our partner rescuer met him and advocated to get him out, and when we saw his sweet face we had to oblige. You’re safe, little guy! We’ll get you set up for a great life here in Seattle!

Foster Update:  Hi! My name is Carmelio. My foster mom tells me I can’t snuggle allllllll the time and have to practice snuggling by myself in my crate! She just doesn’t understand that I just want to be around my people and other dogs all the time. Don’t tell her, but I’m really starting to love my own little spot I can eat and feel safe in. It’s my favorite place to sleep at night when I am all tired out from playing with my foster dog siblings all day. I love to explore and am so curious about everything. When I’m a really good boy, I sit.  I get lots of treats practicing. I can’t wait to learn more tricks. I have had so much fun playing with dogs my size and bigger dogs who have good manners. It’s not my favorite when they try to pounce on me, don’t they know I’m just a little baby? Sometimes my foster mom picks me up like one too and I just melt right in! Walks are so fun. My foster mom/siblings help me stay on track and we stop for lots of sniffs. I’m so happy go lucky and just want to be loved!
