My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Dante is a 40 pound, year-old shepherd mix. He’s currently a bit on the skinny side, so his foster is working to help him gain a little bit of healthy weight. According to his foster, he is very sweet and gentle, and happens to have the softest fur.

He is an all around great pup who does well on car rides and enjoys playing, walking, running, and hiking (and he can swim too). He’s also equally as happy to cuddle up with you on the couch or at your feet.

He’s a cutie who loves everyone he meets, including other dogs. He plays nicely with dogs of any size, and when the foster’s resident dog is done playing, Dante picks up on his cues and stops - just like a good boy.

He already knows the commands for sit, no, give (drop) and is currently working on down and leave it. He does okay walking on leash, and is improving every day.

Dante is neutered, and up to date on his vaccinations. He is also crate trained and house broken.

Dante is currently in a foster home in PA.

More about this rescue

Friends for Life Animal Rescue is a non-profit, 501(c)3, volunteer-run, foster-based Rescue (no facility).

Our focus is to save the lives of dogs and puppies in high-kill shelters in the south and local owner surrenders.

Our mission is to place unwanted and in-danger animals in homes, regardless of age or breed. To educate the public and help stop animal cruelty and neglect.

We don't discriminate against potential adopters on any basis or for any reason. We approve potential adopters if they are and the animal they applied for is a good fit.

Extra Info.-
*If a dog is listed on Adopt a Pet, they are still available, and we accept applications. We approve applications on the best fit for both dog and family.
*We take our best guess on breed and size when fully grown.
* Our dogs are adopted from their foster home or straight from transport from kill shelters in the south.
*We always need foster homes so we can continue to save dogs. Don't hesitate to contact us if you are interested in fostering. Or fill out the foster application using this link - https://form.jotform.com/210257395409155
