Cornelius AkA Buddy is 11 months old and 65lbs! Buddy is the perfect name for him because he is very sweet and snuggly and loves attention- especially belly rubs. He loves every human he meets and is good with other dogs. Seeing how attached he is to my dog, I do believe he will need a companion pet.
Buddy can get pretty attached to his person, so just watch your feet when you are cooking! He is getting more and more independent at home He is, about 80% of the time, just laying around. He's generally a pretty lazy little man.
Buddy is totally house broken and is crate trained, and does especially well with a good chew, like antlers or yak cheese. He has come a long way since staying with me, he can sit and shake and we are working on perfecting his recall.
I have trained him out of jumping, he does still paw for attention a bit. As of now, we believe older children would be ideal but I do "mess" with him to make sure he won't get mad about ear-yanking or poking and he is so blasé about anything I've tried that a kid might do. A fenced in yard would be best-vase scenario because we are still working on being totally comfortable on leash. He is doing really well with it, though! We went on a 2.5 mile hike and he was totally content and happy. Definitely not a good running partner as he likes to mosey. He is learning everyday what the good life is all about but he will need patience as he adjust to a loving life, he's just a bit shy at first. When this guy trusts you, you will see he is really just a kind, loving, big, bumbling Buddy Boy.
