My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

It's the perfect season for Pumpkin Beignet! She's a sweet treat of a rabbit. She would be a wonderful addition to any family, including those new to rabbits.

Pumpkin Beignet was recently in a foster home, and they had so many good things to share about her! Here's what they had to say: "Pumpkin is so sweet and calm. She will rush up to the edge of the cage and tick her nose out so you can pet her. She is extremely playful and curious and enjoys free roam time. She's very calm if you want to pet or play with her, though she doesn't love being picked up. She loves to tunnel and eat. Chew toys are her favorite and she really loves exploring and running around. She's super curious so I would just make sure to block off certain areas because she'll find a way to poke her nose in there. Pumpkin is an absolutely adorable and lovable rabbit. She's so sweet and calm, it's hard not to fall in love with her! She loves affection and will rush over to you and sometimes even gently nibble your hand for pets. Pumpkin gets very excited about food but I think she generally loves when people keep her company. I have to refill her litterbox with hay several times a day. She could spend a little bit more time working on trust for having a human hold or pick her up. She doesn't love it. Overall, Pumpkin is the chillest, sweetest, and most curious rabbit you can imagine. She'll win your heart right away!

Pumpkin Beignet isspayed, microchipped, and vaccinated against RHDV2 (vaccine needs to be administered annually). House Rabbit Society recommends all rabbits see a rabbit-savvy veterinarian once a year.

More about this rescue

Since 1988, House Rabbit Society, its supporters, small staff, local chapters, licensed educators, and other volunteers around the globe have been advocating for the care and well-being of rabbits.

Our goal is to help people see rabbits as intelligent and social pets who thrive indoors. HRS’ mission, philosophy, and policies have influenced the formation of many other nonprofit rabbit rescue groups and set a standard for the treatment and respect of domesticated rabbits. As a nonprofit, we rely on membership support and other donations–large and small. HRS financial documents are provided below, which record our programmatic efforts over the past decade.
