Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
This spunky terrier mix recently came to AFRP after Hitchcock Road Animal Services reached out for some help with a shy and injured dog! Poor little Missy had a fractured front leg but luckily with the continued care and dedication from our clinic staff and her loving fosters, Missy is ready for her furever home!
Initially shy, Missy has made great progress in her foster home. She can still be a bit cautious with new people, but a tasty treat helps her warm up quickly! She's very food-motivated, loves cuddles, and enjoys being a lap dog. Missy also has a playful side and surprises everyone with her impressive jumping skills.
Missy's preferred furever family would be with adult adopters, or with dog-savvy children over the age of ten at this time given her more shy nature. She may do fine in a home with a dog similar in size and temperament, and may do fine in a home with dog-savvy cats. Any introductions to new animals in the home should be done slowly and over time.
Missy is currently in foster care. Meet and greets can be arranged once your online application has been approved. Visit www.animalfriendsrescue.org for our online dog application.

Additional adoption info
Adoption fees help to cover the cost of the care the animal has received during their time with us, including spay/neuter, vaccines, microchipping, deworming, and flea treatment and basic foster care.
All potential adopters complete an application and are screened using a standardized series of questions by a trained adoption counselor. If the application and screening are satisfactory, a qualified adopter can complete a contract, pay the adoption fee and take the animal home.
