My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The kind woman who rescued me from the streets of Houston named me Lil Tyke. My foster mom thinks Houdini would be more appropriate. You see, I got out of her backyard when none of her other foster dogs had ever done so. But luckily through the kindness of neighbors, she found me quickly and closed up every and all possible exit points. She also had me neutered in hopes that would reduce my desire to roam. I have not tried again but my foster mom is very careful.

The vet says I'm a year and a half old, 9 pound Chihuahua mix. I have been vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed so I am ready for my forever home. If you're looking for a walking companion, I would love to join you either on my own or with another dog. I am house trained and get along with dogs of all sizes. All the other dogs in my foster home, a total of six, are bigger and older than I am. Luckily, Jack the Ripper and Brandy Beth who are seven, are great playmates and walking partners. I share my foster mom's bed sleeping under the covers without disturbing her.

I have an inside voice and an outside voice. I do like to bark with the other dogs when somebody walks by our fence but when I'm inside I am quiet except for the occasional yip if my foster mom is a little slow in making breakfast or dinner for the seven of us.

In closing, I am a wandering man looking for his forever home.My foster mom will be very particular, no children who could leave the door open, and a very secure backyard. If this describes you, please go to www.camorescue.com to complete an application.

More about this rescue

CAMO Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers life, health, and a forever home. We specialize in dogs that other rescues can’t or won’t take due to fearful nature or medical needs. We primarily rescue ‘euthanasia listed’ animals that are in immediate danger of death. We provide shots, spay/neuter, microchip, foster homes, food, medical treatment and love to dogs that are abandoned, unwanted or otherwise in need. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another. In addition to caring for our dogs and finding the best possible home for them, we provide education to the community; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership. If needed, our rescue dogs are retrained to socialize in an adoptive loving family. We have had phenomenal success, and amazing support from our community. We believe that animals, as living creatures are entitled to a quality life, respect and compassion. Since humans have domesticated animals, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to care for them. We are partnered with many Shelters to help them reach the same goal.
