Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
This adorable little pup recently came to AFRP after Santa Cruz County Animal Services reached out for help with little Roo and his brother Frankie. Now in a loving foster home, Rufus is ready to find his furever family!
Rufus, also known as Roo, is your typical happy-go-lucky puppy! His foster says he's quite the confident pup, and is as bold as can be. Roo may have the body of a tiny puppy, but he's got the heart of a Mastiff and the courage to prove it! He spends his days going to work with his foster mom and has spending a lot of time working on his puppy manners from leash-walking, potty training, and even laying down when asked! He's still learning, so an adopter who would love to continue his training would be ideal.
Rufus' ideal family would be with adult adopters or with families who have dog-savvy children over the age of six at this time. He would absolutely be thrilled to find a home with another playful pup, but has not been introduced to cats.
Rufus is currently in foster care. Meet and greets can be arranged once your online application has been approved. Visit www.animalfriendsrescue.org for our online dog application.

Additional adoption info
Adoption fees help to cover the cost of the care the animal has received during their time with us, including spay/neuter, vaccines, microchipping, deworming, and flea treatment and basic foster care.
All potential adopters complete an application and are screened using a standardized series of questions by a trained adoption counselor. If the application and screening are satisfactory, a qualified adopter can complete a contract, pay the adoption fee and take the animal home.
