My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cream Cheese, the 10-month-old Retriever mix who’s got boundless energy and an even bigger heart! This lively little guy weighs just under 30 pounds, but don’t let his size fool you—he’s got the spirit of an energizer bunny! While Cream Cheese can be a bit cautious at first, he warms up quickly and loves making new human friends. An active lifestyle is a must for this guy; he’s looking for an adopter who can keep up with his high-energy antics. When it comes to other dogs, he’s a bit like an overexcited little brother who never runs out of steam. Cream Cheese doesn’t always pick up on cues from other dogs, which means he’s happiest either as the only dog or with a patient canine buddy who can handle his high-spirited personality. With his enthusiasm, love for treats, and fuzzy charm, Cream Cheese is sure to bring a whole lot of joy (and laughter!) to his forever home. If you’re ready for a bundle of fun, he’s ready to be your adventure buddy!

Before you can spend time with a dog, there is a brief questionnaire that you will need to fill out. Our staff will review these questions with you in order to help you decide which dog is the right fit for you, your family, and your lifestyle. This information is confidential and will be used only to assist our staff in determining the best possible placement. Please spend the time necessary to make the best possible decision for you AND the dog you may adopt.

Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter is a temporary home for dogs that are found on the streets by the county dog wardens. Dogs are held for 72 hours in order for the owner to claim them. After the holding period, unclaimed dogs may be available for adoption.
