My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This boy is called Kowboy Kirby and he is a one-year-old 65 lb black and tan German Shepherd who doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body about anything or anyone. He is clueless as to why he should be, so he isn't. Kowboy Kirby is just kind of a goofball that is intelligent and needs to continue to have someone surround him with good guidance and boundaries and the ability to polish him into a fabulous dog. Training is necessary for any German Shepherd and especially for this young boy who hasn't been trained starting early in puppyhood. Only in the past 2 months has he had guidance and a schedule with consistency. He used to not tolerate a wire crate but now he's fine in a plastic crate and he tolerates that. It will be necessary for him not to be left loose in the house when people are gone. He'll get into too much mischief as most dogs will do. Kirby is really a special boy to be as nice and sweet as he is considering the fact that he was found in the middle of a highway during a rainstorm back in July. It was determined that he actually had been given away by someone at a Walmart. These animals should never be handed around like this, but it seems like it's happening more and more.

Kirby is housebroken and he walks really nicely on a leash if you're consistent doing it everyday. This is a diamond in the rough kind of guy and we are hoping that you will see the diamond and take him home. Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com And mention where you live, city and state. We transport outside Tennessee to the Northeast as well as doing adoptions locally where we are located in Nashville.

PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.

More about this rescue

We are a group of dedicated rescue people who want to save as many dogs and cats from the local shelters before they are euthanized. On the average....there are only 1 out of 10 animals that get adopted from a shelter. We are dedicated to helping increase pet adoptions by offering a shelter animal a foster home to go to while awaiting an adoptive family to find them on our Petfinder website. Won't you please adopt a shelter animal? Or won't you please help us foster a shelter animal while we are looking for their perfect home? What a gift you can give a dog or cat by giving them a place to feel safe and secure....a forever home or a foster home. Won't you help us at Critter Companion Rescue give them a chance to have a life?
