Meet Dublin!
This cool boy is around 4 years old and about 85 lbs.
Dublin at his core is the sweetest, gentlest fuzzy lover boy who wants gentle scratches, gentle play, and gentle leash corrections.Dublin has a huge wide range of emotions, moods, facial expressions, and personality traits. True to his shepherd nature, he is most at ease when his pack is all together. When dispersed he will maintain his regular patrols to stay up to date on the goings on of the house. Dublin thrives on consistency in daily routine, timing of food, and clear expectations. His confidence is developing when he knows exactly what to expect from his person and when his person is calm and confident. He prefers to be in the company of his people for most of the day. Dublin can be dubious, new people need to demonstrate their trustworthiness. When you earn his trust, you’ll see his goofy side and earn those big fuzzy snuggles and belly rubs. He is a very tall boy with the softest fur and plentiful tickly whiskers which will wake you up or thoroughly inspect all smells on your clothing. He has an exceptionally long snoot, the best for smelling! He enjoys scent play. When you’ve earned his trust he’ll start full on conversations with you in little woo’s, wuff’s, and grumbles. At times you’ll be sitting there having a back and forth conversation and stop to think he actually understands all of the words you are saying. He has moments of brilliance, and enjoys the cognitive challenge of treat puzzles. He has an unfailing memory, so once he figures out that treat puzzle, move on to a new one! Dublin is still building his confidence in the outside world and can be intimidated by big changes and unruly dogs. He wants nothing to do with a crate, unfortunately due to his past, but he is a perfect house guest on his dog pillow or the couch. Dublin can be very sensitive and wants the reassurance of being close to his personal, but also can be quite playful like a young pup. He is vocal about needing to go outside, does not have accidents in the house and doesn’t have much interest in chewing even when it comes to dog toys. He is starting to show excitement about walks and may do OK with a calm, stable dog, if their personalities match.
Dublin needs a home with a yard, kids over 10. He has lived with another dog (Tucker) but will prefer to soak up all your love in the home.
He is vaccinated, neutered and chipped. His adoption fee is usually $395 but 50% is sponsored by a kind samaritan.
