Meet Sherlock!

Sherlock is a resilient and intelligent dog who has faced significant challenges in his life, including the heartbreaking loss of his owner in a tragic accident.

This experience has made it difficult for him to trust people, but with patience and dedication, Sherlock’s true, loving nature shines through.

Why You’ll Love Sherlock:

Loyal and Loving: Once you earn his trust, Sherlock is incredibly loyal and affectionate.

Happy and Playful: Despite his past, he has a playful spirit and a happy disposition.

Smart and Observant: Sherlock is highly intelligent and quick to learn, making him a joy to train. Spay cheese is his absolute favorite thing!!

Ideal Home:
- A very low-traffic environment where he can feel safe and secure.
- An owner who is patient, diligent, and willing to put in the effort to earn his trust.
- A home without young children, as he needs a calm and stable setting to thrive.

Sherlock was adopted from us as a puppy and has been in one home his whole life. He has always struggled with trusting strangers and it got significantly worse after one of his owners passed away in a tragic accident.

When he first came to the shelter we were unable to even touch him but after some patience and a lot of effort building up his trust, he is thriving.

He will need a home where the owner is willing to come meet him multiple times before taking him home and where he will be crated when anyone new comes over as he is very protective of his home.

He is 7 years old, neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, and kept on prevention here with us. He is also on a new medication to help with his anxiety that he will need to stay on for life.

Sherlock is looking for a forever home where he can feel loved and secure. If you have the patience and dedication to help him heal and trust again, Sherlock will reward you with unwavering loyalty and endless love. Are you ready to be the hero in Sherlock’s story?
