Meet Rosie.

Rosie was adopted from us a few years ago but unfortunately was returned after her owner passed away. When she was first with us she was incredibly sweet with everyone but since coming back to us, that has not been the case. Poor Rosie needs a hero.

In the quiet corners of the shelter, where the air smells of hope and echoes of lost companionship linger, resides Rosie—a black and white tuxedo cat with eyes that hold secrets. Her story is etched in ink and paw prints, a tale of resilience and guarded vulnerability.

The Striking Eyes: Rosie’s eyes are like twin moons. When she gazes at you, it’s as if she’s unraveling constellations, daring you to decipher her cosmic code. Perhaps she once whispered secrets to the stars, and they painted her irises with stardust.

Her First Home: Rosie’s past is a faded photograph—a cozy living room, sunbeams dancing on hardwood floors, and the gentle hum of her owner’s voice. But life, that unpredictable conductor, changed the melody. When her owner passed away, Rosie found herself back at the shelter—a bewildered note in an unfinished symphony.

The Sassy Sonata: Oh, Rosie can be sassy! She struts like a prima donna, tail held high, as if the world owes her a standing ovation. When a volunteer approaches, she will swat the condo doors and hiss in warning to anyone who dares open the condo.

The Defensive Waltz: Approach Rosie too quickly, and she pirouettes into defense. Her claws, like piano keys, strike discordant notes. But beneath the bravado lies fragility—the fear of abandonment, the echo of loss. Rosie’s heart, like a delicate nocturne, needs time to find its rhythm again.

And she will need a patient adopter who understands that she will need lots of time and consistency to trust again.

Once she does trust you, Rosie absolutely adores being pet. Cheek rubs and tasty treats are her favorite! But you must earn that right first.

Her Wish: Rosie dreams of patient hands—ones that won’t rush, won’t demand. She longs for a home where sunbeams linger, where the scent of jasmine dances through open windows. A home where trust is built brick by brick, note by note. Rosie’s soul, like an unfinished symphony, awaits its final movement.

Because of Rosie's unpredictable nature and the fact that she is not afraid to swat and even bite if she feels she needs to, she needs a home without any kids around. As of right now, we don't think she's a fan of other animals either, but that may change in the future.

Picture this: Rosie perched on a windowsill, eyes fixed on the horizon. She watches the world—a silent witness to life’s ebb and flow.

And you, dear adopter, hold the key. With patience, you’ll coax Rosie from her defensive stance. You’ll learn her quirks—the way she twitches her tail when intrigued, the softness of her purr when she finally leans into your touch.

Will You Be Her Encore? Rosie waits—an enigma in a tuxedo, a feline sonata seeking its final crescendo. Will you be the one to play her melody? To unravel her cosmic secrets and offer her the encore she deserves?

Rosie is around 5 years old, spayed, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and triple tested negative for FIV, FelV, and heartworm disease.
