My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Calypso, a young, sweet, and friendly soul. Her spirit is as enchanting as her name, radiating warmth and joy to those around her. Calypso's energy is infectious, making every day a new adventure. She's a giant puppy at heart, with an insatiable curiosity and a zest for life that's hard to match. Calypso loves the water, splashing around brings her unparalleled joy. However, her enthusiasm also means she needs a lot of training. She's eager to learn, though, and with the right guidance, she'll quickly become a well-behaved companion.

Calypso is a little over a year old. She weighs 52# and is good with other dogs. If requested she can be cat tested. Due to her size and puppy exuberance, we recommend a home with kids 10 and over. She is very active and would do best with a family that would be willing to play with her in the backyard and/or take her out on excursions such as hikes, trips to parks.

She seems to be very trainable and is looking to please humans. So anyone that is willing to work to get her on a good schedule and provide some basic training would be ideal. She is also a big cuddle bug once she’s burned off her energy.

Calypso is waiting for a home where her vivacious personality can truly shine. Adopt Calypso and fill your life with boundless energy and unconditional love. She is currently in Texas but once adopted will be transported to NJ.

More about this rescue

Friends for Life Animal Rescue is a non-profit, 501(c)3, volunteer-run, foster-based Rescue (no facility).

Our focus is to save the lives of dogs and puppies in high-kill shelters in the south and local owner surrenders.

Our mission is to place unwanted and in-danger animals in homes, regardless of age or breed. To educate the public and help stop animal cruelty and neglect.

We don't discriminate against potential adopters on any basis or for any reason. We approve potential adopters if they are and the animal they applied for is a good fit.

Extra Info.-
*If a dog is listed on Adopt a Pet, they are still available, and we accept applications. We approve applications on the best fit for both dog and family.
*We take our best guess on breed and size when fully grown.
* Our dogs are adopted from their foster home or straight from transport from kill shelters in the south.
*We always need foster homes so we can continue to save dogs. Don't hesitate to contact us if you are interested in fostering. Or fill out the foster application using this link - https://form.jotform.com/210257395409155
