My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Emmett, a 10-year-old Chihuahua mix and blanket connoisseur.

He was a very shy and scared pup initially, but he has made so much progress in such a short time and is eager to make new friends! He is house and crate trained. He doesn't love being left at home alone, but has been doing well with medication.

Emmett is friendly with dogs around his size, but is intimidated by big dogs. He'd likely be fine if slowly introduced. He hasn't had many interactions with cats, but is curious about them and hasn't shown any aggression toward them.

Because of his missing teeth, his lips often get stuck in silly positions, and his tongue sticks out when he sleeps. He may tremble a bit, but he's a brave boy when getting medicated baths for his skin. He's lost some hair on his back end, but he looks very dapper in his sweaters that help keep him warm.

Emmett's favorite thing to do is to snuggle up in his blankets. If you hold an end up, he will burrow underneath, and he loves to be tucked into bed at night. If you're looking for a new snuggle buddy with the silliest faces, Emmett is your dog! Apply to adopt today!

Additional adoption info

Please visit www.hopeanimals.org/adopt to learn more about our adoption process and to complete an adoption application.

Adoption Fee includes spay/neuter*, microchipping, up-to-date vaccinations, and current heartworm and flea/tick preventatives.

*If pet is not old enough to be spayed or neutered prior to adoption, a $50.00 credit will be paid to your vet at the time of surgery.

We require a veterinary reference for current pet owners, and pets must be up to date on vaccines and heartworm preventative. We meet potential adopters in their homes and introduce the pets to the family's current pets to see if it is a good match. A copy of our adoption contract can be requested via email.
