My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Moby,

Male - neutered
Domestic Short Hair
Approx. 2 years old

Moby was very overwhelmed at the shelter so he was placed into a loving foster home to help build his confidence and trust. We are so happy to share that he is adjusting very well in his foster home and now is ready to find his forever family.

His foster paw-rents describe him as a very well behaved cat who is very affectionate and playful. This sweet boy is a little shy and does tend to seek the safety of his own "safe places" when visitors arrive at the home or when the front door opens. When he feels safe and comfortable, he isn't shy about seeking attention, asking to be pet and played with and he loves to chat too!

Moby will thrive in a peaceful, patient and quiet home and will make a wonderful attention to any family seeking a special, loving feline family member!

Additional adoption info

All pets available for adoption through the Georgina Animal Shelter and Adoption Centre are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and will have received a parasite preventative or treatment. Adoption fees are $300 for dogs and $175 for cats plus tax. If applicable, the purchase of a pet license will be required at the time of adoption.

Before considering pet adoption, potential pet parents are encouraged to do their own research on the type of pet that they are interested in adopting. Different breeds, for example, can have very different exercise needs or may be prone to certain genetic conditions. It is also a good idea to speak with your local veterinarian to gain insight about the type of pet you are considering adopting and the initial and yearly animal care costs involved with pet ownership.

All adoptions require an application and an in person or phone consultation prior to be being approved.

More about this shelter

The Georgina Animal Shelter and Adoption Centre is a municipally-owned animal shelter located in the Town of Georgina, Ontario. With a team of dedicated professionals, the shelter provides animal care to vulnerable animals in need.

Services Include:

Temporary housing for stray/vulnerable owned pets
Reuniting lost pets with their owners
Pet rehoming
Pet adoptions
Pet licensing

Pet licenses aid in the fast return of a lost pet to its owner. They provide an immediate visual clue to anyone who finds the pet, which often results in the pet not having to be brought into an animal shelter.

Pet licensing services are provided on behalf of Georgina, East Gwillimbury, Aurora and Newmarket.
