If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
I've got to get a little personal to explain why I need someone to take my dog.
I have PTSD. I got the dog originally with my ex-wife, to pair with my other dog. Then: divorce. OK. I rolled with it, took the new puppy, and moved on. Except that my mind couldn't. I already had PTSD before I was married (both of my dogs were service animals) and it just kept getting worse afterwards.
Fast forward two years. I travel for work. It is what it is. And I have bent over backward getting Rambo into doggy daycares, keeping him occupied, and constantly keeping him well-fed and well-entertained. He has nevertheless become depressed and anxious. I have tried everything, even getting a solid place of my own. But I just can't afford a yard and a quiet-enough spot.
I need to get into a program and I need someone who can take care of my best bud. Maybe that means another dog he can chill with, some people he can bond with, ideally a yard. Hardest decision of my life. But he needs something better.
