My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Igor is a male Domestic Shorthair kitten. He was brought to our shelter on 9/8/24 after being found in Sunol. He hasn't been reclaimed by his previous person, so he's now looking for a new home! He has been vaccinated, and will be neutered and micro-chipped before going to his new home.

Igor's adoption fee is $35, plus the cost of his neuter.

Donation
Donated items may be dropped off at the shelter during business hours. Items we are always in need of are: dry cat and dog food, canned cat and kitten food, rabbit pellets and hay, dog treats, towels and blankets, small dog and cat beds, cat toys, Kongs, dog collars and leashes. Other items appreciated as well! We ask that all monetary donations be made to the Tri-Valley Animal Rescue, a local rescue group that serves as an invaluable asset to our animal shelter! Donations can be made through their website (www.TVAR.org) or dropped off in person at the East County Animal Shelter.

*All adoptions include a free vet exam, redeemable within two weeks of the adoption date, and a temporary leash (dogs) or cardboard carrier (cats and rabbits).

Other Policies:

*All dogs/puppies and cats/kittens must be altered (spayed or neutered) before the pet can go home with you. If the pet that you adopt is not yet altered, we will schedule your new pet an appointment at the time of adoption for it to be altered at the neighboring spay/neuter clinic. This means that not all pets adopted will get to go home the same day.

*For prospective dog adoptions where there is already an existing dog or dogs in the home, there will need to be a mandatory dog introduction before we can proceed with the adoption. If you are adopting a dog, and have a cat at home, please make staff aware of this prior to adoption.

*Most of our pets come to us as strays, therefore we are unable to guarantee the health, temperament, or age of any adopted pet. Pets are adopted "as is."

*Payment methods that we accept are exact change cash, money order, or check with i.d. and current address imprinted on the check. We do not accept credit or debit cards, and cannot accept business checks or out of state checks. If you are paying by cash, we are not able to make change.

Adoption application

Go meet their pets

All adoptions take place in person at the East County Animal Shelter. Our address is 4595 Gleason Drive, Dublin, CA 94568. Our phone number is 925-803-7040. We are open seven days a week (excluding county holidays) from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm. Please arrive early enough to give yourself time to get acquainted with your prospective new pet before we can begin the adoption paperwork.

Please note: We do not post pets as available for adoption until their stray hold period has ended. Because of this, there are always more pets available for viewing at the shelter than are currently listed online. All pets listed online have fulfilled their legal stray hold and are now available for adoption.
