My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Trip is a striking guy with a black coat and tan markings, with two distinctive tan dots above his eyes that truly showcase his thoughtful nature. While he's not a fan of confinement, Trip is a friendly and gentle pup once he's outside of the kennel environment. Though initially hesitant, he warms up and becomes solicitous with time and trust. Having lived with both male and female dogs (he prefers females), Trip has a history of being friendly towards strangers in the home. He had an isolated incident with a littermate (who he lived with for four years). Since being in the shelter, he's shown no signs of aggression toward other dogs, though he has been more timid and less engaging with them here. He may do best in a home with a female dog, but with proper introductions and a calm, patient approach, he has the potential to thrive in a new environment. Trip will need time and space to decompress, but once settled, he's sure to become a loyal and loving companion.

Additional adoption info

You’re interested in adopting? That’s great! We have many eager candidates who would love to meet you! If you have questions, please call us at 208-788-4351.

$150 Dogs (All ages)
$100 Kittens (Under 1 year, second kitten is free!)
$75 Senior and special needs dogs (7+,add'l care or meds needed)
$50 Cats (1 year and older)

We ask all who are interested in adopting an animal to fill out an adoption application. We interview all potential adopters with the goal of placing an animal with the correct family and compatible lifestyle. This is of prime importance – we endeavor to make this new home the animal’s residence for life. All of our animals must be spayed or neutered before leaving our facility as part of our adoption contract.

The adoption fees include spay / neuter costs as well as any vaccinations administered at the shelter. All animals are microchipped and your adoption fee covers the cost of a dog license for all of our Blaine County residents. You’ll also go home with a bag of food and a bag of goodies for your new pet!
