Our family adopted Boots through this same site 2 years ago from a couple who had him for the first 4 years of his life. They had a baby and learned she was allergic to Boots. He is a good boy, has natural herding instincts and is protective of the house/kids. We believe he was not well socialized with other dogs as a puppy and he comes off as aggressive when meeting new dogs. We have two cats that we raised from 5 week old kittens and a re-homed mini Holland Lop rabbit. All of them have free reign in our home including a dog door. Boots is not aggressive toward our other animals. He could easily jump over the fence but never has. He has barged through a front door that had not closed to run around and go exploring. In most instances he just runs up the street. However, if he encounters an unfamiliar animal, he does not understand how to introduce himself politely. Boots would do well in a home where he could get exercise and not be able to get out on his own.
