My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Luke is everything that you could dream of in a big dog. There are SO many great things that we can say about him. He’s a hugger, a kisser, a joyful player and overall just a fun time to be around. Luke is a big ole goofy goober that is always so happy. No matter what is going on around him, he is always so happy and up for anything you throw at him. Instantly when you meet him you catch yourself saying, "man that is a really cool dog," and it's true! He's a cool guy looking for his forever home.

Fall in love with Luke here: https://youtu.be/MpDX-3govvU?si=-lwCXNA2CIWB31JP

We think that Luke is a shepherd mix, estimated to be 1 year old. Luke is a rescue, so his exact age and breed are unknown and cannot be guaranteed.

With humans, Luke is a gentle giant. He loves a good couch snuggle, and he gives sweet soft kisses. He likes to play with sticks, rope toys and balls, and he sits so politely to take toys and treats. He shares his toys well, and he is so, so silly and just absolutely addicting to be around. And so handsome, so charming! We’re head over heels for this boy, if you can’t tell.

He can, at times, jump for affection, and his leash manners need some polishing. These are the type of little tweaks he’ll need, that drive our desire to see him in an “experienced dog people” home. Our behavior team has begun training Luke to walk on a gentle leader, a specialized type of leash that just helps him walk like an angel on leash. He’s a quick learner, eager to please, treat motivated, and loves to learn new things. In the right hands and with consistency and structure, Luke has all the potential to be the best doggy citizen out there. Even though we already think he's 10/10 the best boy.

In the home, Luke has a great basic foundation of house manners. He doesn’t mark or potty indoors here at the rescue. He gets off of the couch when you ask him to. He’s a respectful, sweet boy that loves to lounge in the AC, roll around on the floor, and enjoy all of the simple pleasures that life with loving humans can bring.

With other dogs, Luke is the life of the playgroup. He has a silly, rambunctious play-style that never fails to get the doggy party started. He does well with dogs much smaller than him, we’ve seen him play well with dogs as small as 30 pounds. He loves to play chase with the other dogs! We think he would do well in a home with another moderately playful dog to keep him company. However, he is so people focused and loving that he could definitely thrive as your one and only.

Luke’s perfect home will have at least one loving human to call his own, but he’s not too picky about the rest. We do not recommend a home with kitties for Luke, and we do not recommended apartment living for Luke. Luke does ask that you stock up on tennis balls, sticks and nylabones in anticipation of his arrival! Save a seat for him on your couch, too, please.

Luke is such a dream, so handsome, so precious, looking for his forever. We are willing to test this dog with anything you need us to in order to ensure he’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know. Apply to adopt Luke today, this sweet handsome boy won’t last long.

https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.

Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!

Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.

Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.

The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded.

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:

Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family

Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!

Follow our rescue journey and connect with us on our website and social media platforms. Together, we can make a difference, one adoption at a time.
