Here's what the humans have to say about me:
10/31/24 10:51 Reason animal needs rescue: Dalton needs an adult only home that will work with him on building confidence. In the shelter, Dalton will freeze and is very nervous of sudden movements. Dalton does well with other dogs and would benefit from a dog that can help him build trust and confidence in his people. Type: Behavior Impound type: Stray Additional notes: Dalton shows severe signs of kennel stress and he desperately needs an adopter that will work with him to build confidence and who will give him space to understand his environment. He is currently on behavior support medication but he will stop that once he goes to a home and decompresses.
10/11/24 12:30 Dalton is listed as needing rescue or immediate adoption because he is a young boy who is having a hard time with shelter life. He was brought in as a stray from the Field with Kayce. The Animal Services Officer noted that both dogs were very scared and wanted to stay close to each other. Since he is nervous, he may not catch the attention as some of our other dogs. We are looking for someone that would be willing to open their home to this boy and show him the patience and love he deserves.
12/16/24 16:35 Not thriving in shelter enviornment. Unable to safely handle, any attempt to pet dog flinches and tenses up. Dog tried to escape the whole meet, at one point started to scream wanting to go back. Dog does well with his sibling and/or other dogs but lacks confidence in people. Dogs have been made available since October with continued volunteer socialization but still no progress with people. inhumane conditions due to fear and being undersocialization these dogs will continue to decline in care. These dogs need positive experiences and associations with humans outside of these conditions. Dogs do well with others and will do best in homes with other dogs.
