My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Breezey was brought in by a community member on August 22, 2024. /p>

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Breezey, a sweet little girl ready to crash on your couch! She came to us as a stray, so we're still getting to know her, but one thing's for sure-she's very particular about how she's handled, especially in a medical setting. A Fear Free Certified vet would be ideal to help her feel comfortable during check-ups. Breezey doesn't seem interested in interacting with other dogs and would thrive as the only dog in the household. If her new family has another canine, a meet-and-greet is required prior to adoption. She'll do best in a calm household with children 12 and up. Breezey also has a medical condition that requires long-term management, so our medical staff will need to discuss her treatment plan before adoption. Is Breezey the one for you? Bring a leash and collar, and take her home today!/p>

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
