My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sir-Thumps-Alot! Sir for short doesn't actually thump much but it's a cute name. Sir was found along with a few other rabbits behind a local supermarket. Some kind folks scooped him and his friends up and here we are! Sir is very sweet and kind bunny. He is still waiting to be neutered so cannot live with other intact bunnies for the time being. He seems very socialized and has settled in well here. Of course he would love to get into a home where he could be a free roaming bun. He is catching on to using his litter box already and loves to eat. He was quite hungry upon his arrival. Sir would make a great companion and would do well with any family/person. As he was a stray bunny we do not know his history.*Please note: rabbits love to have lots of space to roam. Please see the the BC SPCA rabbit care guide for a suitable set up: https://spca.bc.ca/wp-content/uploads/rabbit-care-guide.pdf If interested in adoption please send us an email @ sunshinecoast@spca.bc.ca and we can send you a rabbit application form and once received we can set up a meet and greet. We are only open by appointment at this time. Sir will be waiting patiently!

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
