My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I'm Misha! I was rescued in Stockton, CA.

I’m an adorable, shy, and affectionate kitty. When humans meet me, they really want to pet me and I really can’t blame them because I am super cute after all, but I’m also cautious and shy in new environments and around humans I don’t know. I prefer to take things slowly while getting to know humans but once I know I can trust you, my sweet and affectionate purrsonality opens up!

I was nervous when I first arrived in my foster home and although I’ve been here a couple weeks, I’m still a bit anxious and am sometimes startled by unfamiliar things. It took me about a week before I began asking for pets and revealing my cuddly and affectionate side. I enjoyed receiving pets before I began asking for them, I just didn’t begin asking until I felt a little more comfortable and confident. Thankfully my foster human has been helping me feel more comfortable and there’s another foster kitty here whose much more confident than I am so he’s also been helping me.

I’m looking for a patient family who understands kitties like me need some extra time and reassurance to open up. I may be cautious and shy in new environments and around new humans but I purromise your patience with me will be very rewarding!

More about this rescue

Every day adult and senior cats with treatable medical and behavioral conditions are euthanized. GIVE ME SHELTER's goal is to rescue these cats from certain death and place them into loving permanent homes.
GMS is a registered 501(c)3 organization and is dedicated to helping stop the overpopulation of unwanted and abandoned cats. We are a small group of dedicated volunteers who are committed to bettering the life of adult cats who no longer have a home to call their own. Every time you adopt from us, you allow us to save another cat that would have otherwise died. We receive new cats into our system almost every week. Our website is constantly being updated, so please check back often!
