By investigating reported cruelty and abuse cases; and by educating the public about responsible animal ownership. The Lowndes County Animal Shelter envisions a time when our community embraces the mutual benefits of the human-animal bond and treats all animals with care and compassion.

Animal Services we provide:
Enforcing Animal Control Ordinances.
Investigating animal abuse and cruelty complaints.
Humanely capturing distressed, nuisance, or dangerous animals.
Sheltering stray and abused pets.
Offer healthy pets for adoption.
Offer refuge to pets during disaster evacuations, accidents involving the owner and pet, eviction, and while the owner is detained or incarcerated.
