My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet APPLEJACKS, sweet like the cereal he's named for! At only 6 months old, Applejacks had a rough start in life.... found as a skinny stray with hair loss. But then his luck changed when he landed at BCAS. The medical staff got him started on the road to recovery and a foster took over..... Just Look At Him Now!
Applejacks' foster says:
* Believed to be a smaller size Lab/Pyrenees mix, ~25 lbs, very lanky
* Goofy boy , very outgoing
* Loves playing with the foster's dogs and child
* Likes to cuddle up and take naps with you.... anytime
* Crate trained and about 90% potty trained
* Still a puppy but already knows sit and down, working on not jumping
Just look at the transformation of this skinny baby boy to a handsome young pup full of life and hope. We are so grateful to his foster for loving and caring for him. For more information, submit an application online and it will be forwarded to his foster.

More about this shelter

The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
