My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*Indoor only*

Matey is a "Super DUPER friendly cat, according to his foster mom! He was brought indoors and now he can't get enough love and affection. In fact, he's developing his palate--showing a preference for wet foods with duck and rabbit in them over any others!

He is currently healing from minor eye surgery, and has a life-long "wobble caused by a neurological disorder, but neither has slowed him down. Matey loves to sit in the "crow's nest on top of his cat tower, has adjusted perfectly to using a litter box, and really loves his humans.

Matey's neurological disorder is CH, or cerebellar hypoplasia. CH affects a cat's cerebellum, which controls balance, coordination, and muscle movement. A cat with cerebellar hypoplasia can live a normal life with a normal lifespan. Most overcome their limitations and find their own way to navigate the world.

Adoption fee of $100 includes spay/neuter, FIV and FELV combo test, up-to-date rabies and distemper vaccinations, deworming treatments, flea treatments, and microchip.

More about this rescue

Shadow Cats TNR (SCTNR) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to assisting animals in need. Our mission is to establish and manage programs for the welfare of community cats, companion animals, and pet owners needing assistance, in collaboration with other community partners, rescue groups and shelters.

We specialize in controlling the community cat population through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). As a result of the TNR process, we often acquire, along with feral cats, friendly and semi-friendly cats and kittens. We work to place these cats into appropriate homes through our adoption and barn cat programs. SCTNR seeks to educate the public on the importance of spaying/neutering all pets as well as controlling the cat populations in our county.
