My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I’m Cosette, the tiny little tortie with paws the size of dimes! Here are my top 5 FAVORITE things ever:

Food! Kitten treats are obviously my favorite and I’m very well nourished with dry kitten kibble, but that doesn’t stop me from trying to swipe a piece of human food off the table! My foster mom catches me red-handed every time but maybe one day I’ll succeed.
To help my foster mom with her crafts! She started wrapping presents this week and there’s SO. MUCH. RIBBON! I’m not picky, though, I play with tissue paper scraps and cardboard too if I can get my claws on it.
People, birds, and other cats! I’m a huge extrovert and spend most of the time playing tag with my foster brother. When he gets sleepy, I like keeping a lookout on the neighborhood from the windowsill. And when people come over, I like to cuddle up with them for movies, gossip, and some pizza (well, actually I’m only allowed to stare at the pizza). You can expect me to be alllll over you and everyone else once I feel comfortable in my new home. Basically, I do best in a home with other pets or people!
Plush blankets! I miss my real mama a lot, so sometimes I suckle on fluffy blankets and make biscuits to remember the good old times with her. Plus, I sleep better because the blankets are super cozy and warm. I hope my new home has a plush blankie for me!
I LOVE Myself! I’m becoming a big girl and can use the litter box perfectly now - I even cover up behind me before I walk away. I take care of myself by visiting my water bowl often and sleeping at night time so I can be alert during the day. It feels like I can climb anything, run super fast, and jump as high as I want, and that makes me feel powerful! And the cherry on top: I’m a great singer with an impressive vocal range!
There you have it, my top 5 favorite things! To be totally, completely, 10000% honest with you, though, I’d really love most of all to spend my FIRST-EVER holiday season with my forever family! THAT would be my biggest wish come true! Can you help me make that happen??

More about this rescue

Our mission is to provide the programs and services needed to eliminate the killing of at-risk animals due to lack of space, adopter or foster.

San Antonio Pets Alive! is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Due to alarming euthanasia rates, San Antonio Pets Alive! (SAPA!) was founded in 2012. SAPA! is unique—it is the only high paced, high-volume rescue in San Antonio, saving 6,000 at-risk cats and dogs annually.

Since its inception, SAPA! has saved more than 47,000 dogs and cats. SAPA! provides safety nets for the dogs and cats that fall through the cracks of all other lifesaving options and end up on the euthanasia lists, often with just hours to be saved. SAPA! promotes the availability of these dogs and cats to other rescues, adopters and fosters.

questions.

If you are interested in fostering an animal, please visit our website and fill out our online Foster Application. The more foster homes we have the more animals we can pull off the euthanasia list and the more lives we can save together!
