My name is Freddy!

Freddy is a senior dog who is in need of a home that is able to provide the care he needs. I recently inherited Freddy from my mother who passed away in September. Freddy is 13 years old and was a shelter dog my mother adopted from the Anti-Cruelty Society in Chicago. However, I am not the ideal person to care for Freddy, as he has a number of special needs.

As a small dog, he has anxiety issues with storms and separation, which can be controlled with medication. He is also not fully housebroken, so he wears a harness and belly band diapers, which prevents this as a problem. Finally, he has a persistent cough related to a tracheal issue, for which he requires relatively inexpensive oral medication.

All that being said, he is an adorable, cuddly dog who sleeps most of the day, likes cuddling with his owner, is good with children, enjoys outdoor walks, and is a good and faithful companion. He needs an owner who can manage his needs and provide him with the love he deserves.
