Hi! My name is Sweetie, and I'm a yearling female with a big white locket on my glossy black fur. I love to have my head and neck petted, and when it's time for some lovin', I'll wiggle my tail and head at you. And when you pet me, I purr with all my heart! (Check out my video to hear all about it!) I was rescued from a flash flood when I was only two weeks old, so it still takes me awhile not to be shy in new situations; I'll be happiest if I have a quiet room to start off with, spending quality time with you while I get my bearings. I'd really prefer an all-adult household, especially because I like to be petted gently. As long as I have my human, I'd be a great choice if you need an only cat, but I'm also used to hanging out in a multi-cat household. Not only am I well-behaved, I'm great at keeping myself entertained-my purple jingle ball is my favorite! If you're looking for some affectionate calorie-free sweetness in your life, that would be me!

Adoptions are completed on a first come, first served basis. Please note there may be a wait to meet with a pet, dependent on advisor availability.

Please allow plenty of time to meet your perfect pet. Once you have selected a pet, the adoption process will take at least 30 minutes. We do not begin the adoption process after 5:30 pm.

Animal Humane New Mexico performs a background check on all adopters & does not adopt to anyone who has committed a violent crime. We reserve the right to refuse an adoption for any reason.

Please note, visitors must wear their mask indoors at all Animal Humane locations.
