**Meet Kobe**

Kobe is a sweet and gentle dog who listens well and adores spending time with people. Because his world has been small, he can be a bit shy when meeting new faces, so we recommend a home with older kids who can understand and respect his need for patience. Kobe is a sensitive soul who may take some time to adjust to new environments, but once he feels safe, his playful and affectionate nature shines through.

Kobe has a history of being friendly with cats, although his previous feline companion wasn't as fond of him. So if there's a cat in the home, it's best that the cat is dog-social to create a peaceful environment. Kobe is housebroken and crate trained, making him a low-maintenance addition to the family. He loves playing with toys and enjoys relaxing with his people. With a little patience and a lot of love, Kobe will flourish in a home where he feels safe and understood.

More about this shelter

The Maryland SPCA connects wonderful pets to loving owners. We are not affiliated with any national animal organization, and we do not receive any government or United Way funding. Our mission is to prevent cruelty and neglect of animals through fostering the humane relationship between animals and people. We operate primarily in the Greater Baltimore Metropolitan area.

To make sure that our dogs and cats do not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem, every one is spayed or neutered before going into a new home. The cost is included in the adoption fee, as are the costs of shots and other necessary care. In addition, a free Positive Pooch class is available to our dog adopters.

There is no set time limit for how long an animal can remain in our adoption program. As long as an animal maintains general good health and a sound temperament, we keep him or her until adopted. We pride ourselves on providing premium care to the animals in a clean, pleasant environment. Our adoption staff works diligently to pair up adopters with the best animal match for their homes and lifestyles.

We transport animals from other shelters to our adoption center to help more animals get adopted. We also help pet owners find new homes for their pets so their animals don’t need to enter shelter care.
