Tommy the Tabby is Scary Cute!

Boo! I’m Tommy, the mysterious 3 years old, 13 lb “ghost tabby.” My sleek, shifting coat has an eerie charm—it changes from black to white depending on how you pet me. My cuteness aside, I’m here to add a touch of spookiness and a whole lot of snuggles to your life! Once, I was an outdoor wandering spirit, who found one of our TAP directors. It was clear that I once had a family and longed for companionship. I hope I can cast my spell on you!

I’m an easygoing soul, happy to curl up on your lap, lounge around, and keep you company with my little ghostly meows (especially if you've got Temptations treats!). I’m even used to dogs, though I like a bit of space now and then. I haven’t been tested with my foster around cats or kids but I hope we’d be pals. While I haven’t shared my haunted hallways with other cats indoors yet, I’d likely be just fine with a calm, friendly pal.

Despite my breed, I pawmise that there’s nothing scary about me! I’m friendly, full of personality, and would love a cozy lap and a quiet, loving home. So, what do you say? Let’s conjure up some cuddles and make some magic!

We prioritize local San Diego applicants. We do not provide transport of dogs to other states, and don't allow the dogs to fly in the cargo of the plane.
Our adoption process from start to finish, involves 3 standard forms, and 2 situational.
All potential applicants must be capable of providing their adopted pet with routine and emergency veterinary care (yearly health checks, keeping vaccinations current, heartworm/flea preventatives, and immediate care in the event the animal is sick or injured). They are required to license their pet, and keep an identification tag on their pet at all times.
All applicants must agree to a home check, and provide us with a veterinary reference, or personal references if you're a first-time pet owner. Our home checks are not to invade the privacy of the applicants, we do this to ensure the pet is going into a safe home. We do not discriminate against non-homeowners, or those living in apartments, condos, or otherwise.
Our adoption fees vary from $150-1000.
Applicants must agree in writing that if for any reason they are unable to keep or care for their pet, the pet will be surrendered back to our rescue and not re-homed, turned over to a shelter, pound, rescue, new owner, sold, etc.

Overview
The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue devoted to saving the lives of dogs facing euthanasia at high kill animal shelters and off the streets of Mexico. We rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home locally.

We are dedicated to animal advocacy, and educating dog owners on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets. We are a foster based rescue, and rely heavily on the kindness and generosity of the amazing people who make donations toward the rescue and care of the dogs we save.
