Loving and loyal!
My name is Thing 2, and I’m a neutered 1 year old Labrador Retriever mix, weighing in at 48 pounds. I’m part of the Cat in the Hat litter that was rescued in Mexico last year during the Thanksgiving holiday, and I’m ready to put that all behind me and find a loving furever home!
I am a loving and loyal boy once you’ve earned my trust. Being naturally cautious, it can take some time to warm up to new people; but once I do, I love hard! My favorite activities include playing with doggie friends, being near and cuddling with my humans, going to doggy daycare, sunbathing in the backyard, and chasing lizards.
After I was scooped up by TAP, I had a bit of a rough go for a couple of months trying to adjust to all the change. I’ve since developed some nervousness around new people and environments and am on daily Prozac to effectively manage my high anxiety. Despite this, though, I’ve worked hard on my training. I’ve already mastered crate-training, potty-training, and leash-training. I’m extremely food motivated, too, and will do almost anything for a tasty treat, which makes training and meeting new people a much easier experience for me.
My ideal home would be with an owner who’s had experience with fearful and anxious dogs, as I’m definitely not suitable for first-time dog owners. I’d also thrive in a home with a confident and friendly doggie sibling who could help me gain my confidence and overcome my trust issues. No kitties or children, please, but would appreciate lots of love and patience so that I can become the goodest boy I can be!
My adoption fee is $450 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/.
