Vincent was confiscated on August 3, 2023 at 10-11 months old, off a chain with no food or water. He spent the next 10 months at the Monroe County Alabama Animal Shelter where he was taken until now when he was finally released to go to rescue.
Born to a life of violence, bred to fight to his death. 38 dogs were confiscated off the property of a man who bred and led a dog fighting ring. 22 of those 38 dogs lost their lives because of this man and hundreds of other lives before that. Vincent was the only adult male that made it out and was given a chance to show the world that, even when humans tortured and abused him…destined him for a life of violence, could still beat all the odds against him.
The second he walked into his foster home, he showed us what the pit bull breed stands for. Heart, Courage, Love, Forgiving, Resilient, Brave, and most importantly, Worthy of our Respect. He holds zero grudges for what we humans put him through. The property he was confiscated from had unimaginable sights. Dump sites containing bones of deceased animals, chains attaching dogs to poles with no shelter, food or water in the dead August heat in the south, puppies bred for what these monsters considered a “sport”, locked up in small cages, dogs with scars and wounds all over….just inhumane all around. Yet all this particular boy wanted was love from people, and surprisingly, he just wanted to be friends with EVERY dog he met. No doubt, he would have never survived the life he was bred to live.
Vincent is AMAZING. He absolutely loves every dog he meets and would do best with another dog in the home as he seems to find his confidence through them. Everything is new to him as he spent the first 10 months on a chain and the next year in a shelter. The walls, the televisions, furniture, stairs, windows.... it is all very new and he is taking everything in. He would love a home with a family who will allow him to continue learning his environment with patience and understanding. To adopt this gorgeous boy, please apply at keytolionsheart.org
