My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Ollie and I am from Minnesota.

I am what you might call... amazing! I am good with dogs, cats, kids, lizards, chickens, guinea pigs... you name it, I can be their friend! I love all humans, from newborns to adults! I can be a little energetic though, so I do need my exercise so that my excitement for all of my friends doesn't come across as "too much" (you really could never have too much of me though!)
Oh, I am house and crate trained too!

Slow intros to new friends would be best for my new friends! I can come across a little eager and new friends may appreciate some time to get to know me!

From his foster: Ollie is a such sweet boy with moderate energy. He likes to play with his toys and run around the backyard. He likes to go for walks. He is a snuggle bug and will sleep in bed with you, if you allow it, although you might have too. He will sleep on his doggy bed next to the bed. He has gotten use to our in home cats and tries to play with them. He is smart and knows a few tricks such as sit and shake. He will chill in his crate while you have to step out or does well in a room alone. He loves being involved with whatever is going on and greeting you once you get home, he really is a good boy who deserves a loving and supporting home.

He would benefit from a family/ person who will go slow with him in new settings. He appears to get over stimulated when too much is going on and would benefit from someone who can notice when this is happening and try and calm the situation / remove stressors. An attempt was made to introduce to him to a neighbor's dog and he barked non stop, while the other did growl at him, we stopped the meeting. I tried to bring him away from the dog for a a couple minutes and bring him back and he barked a lot while the other did a low growl. He is very curious about our cats and wants to sniff and play with them, he has not shown any aggression towards them at all nor did he the other dog.

Go meet their pets

The Bond Between's goal is to not keep any animals at our rescue office. The majority of our animals are living in foster homes until they are adopted. Occasionally, animals are living in our rescue office that are in need of a foster home.

If you would like to meet an animal at our office who needs a foster, please reach out to inofficeanimals@thebondbetween.org and fill out our foster interest form at https://www.thebondbetween.org/foster

For more information on fostering or adoptable animals, please visit https://www.thebondbetween.org.

More about this rescue

The Bond Between is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that focuses on the bond between humans and animals. We were founded in 2009 as Secondhand Hounds. Since then, we have rescued over 29,000 dogs and cats with the help of thousands of fosters, volunteers, and supporters in our community. Our organization has grown from a rescue to a first-in-its-class animal wellbeing organization... now The Bond Between! We continue to provide safe shelter, proper veterinary care, and daily necessities for animals while working hard to help them build a bond with humans. We also focus on supporting the bonds that already exist between people and pets with our pet food shelf, respite foster care program, and focus on social services.

We wake up every morning saying YES to connecting people and animals, caring for them, and helping them fill each other’s hearts.

You can help support us today by donating, fostering, volunteering, or sharing The Bond Between.
