Meet our wonderful dog nanny, Tressel! While he’s been busy keeping up with the lively Darling kids for the last few months, he’s on the lookout for a calmer, more peaceful home to retire in.
Tressel is the perfect pooch for someone seeking a gentle companion who loves to relax, snuggle, and enjoy the quieter side of life. He’s ready to trade in the chaos for cozy cuddles and leisurely walks!

Tressel is around 7 years young, 53 lbs, and fully vetted! He is also house trained and crate trained. He qualifies for our Senior Soulmate program, so get your application in today!

All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home.

We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application.

We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information.

We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.

Submit Application

Apply online at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply

Approve Application

We perform vet and landlord checks if necessary and will contact you if your application is approved.

3.
Meet the Pet

If approved, a volunteer will bring the dog to your home for a meet & greet and home check.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

If the adoption representative and you agree the dog is a good fit for your family, you will complete the adoption contract and pay the fee.

As a network of foster homes, we do not have a "shelter location". We do hold meet and greet events each month at various locations where you can meet our precious pitties. Otherwise, meet and greets are only available with an approved application and home visit.
