My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Luann has just a few white hairs on her chest...and, of course, those two white whiskers. She is a lovely, soft black girl, so pleasant to pet. Luannis a little slow to make friends with people. She is a very sweet kitty, once she gets to know you, however....it just takes a little while. Luann will allow herself to be picked up and petted. Once she is on your lap, and has her fears allayed, she will relax a bit and start to purr. She needs a patient adopter who will allow her to progress at her own pace before she becomes your best friend and companion.

All of our dogs, cats, rabbits & ferrets are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Small animals are usually not altered. We have adoption applications, a short interview process, and an adoption fee for each animal. All animals (except rabbits & small animals) are up to date on all shots.

We hold adoption events on Saturdays at Petsmart in Mishawaka from 11-3. We also hold other events throughout the year. You can also contact us directly regarding a pet seen here and we will set up a time for you to meet them in person. Company Overview
Heartland Small Animal Rescue Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving South Bend, IN and surrounding towns by taking in homeless pets and adopting them out into loving homes. We also work closely with local shelters to reduce euthanasia rates by pulling animals and putting them in our program.
