My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Boone was brought in by his previous owner.

Why this pet is the one for you:
This handsome fella is Boone! Boone is a bashful boy looking for a home that that will help him continue to build his confidence. Boone's ideal adopter will have experience with positive reinforcement training (or be willing to learn!), a quieter house with a securely enclosed yard or patio, and lots of patience and understanding to meet Boone where he's at. He will thrive in an environment where he can adjust at his own pace and his boundaries are respected. Boone enjoys walking on leash in quiet familiar spaces and would love a human to help him learn about the rest of world at his pace! Boone would prefer older kiddos who can read what he's saying with his body language. Are you ready to give Boone all the tasty treats and love he deserves? Come by our San Diego campus and meet him today!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
