My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
This pet was brought in by a community member.

At SDHS:
This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. Milfredson is now ready for his new home!

Why Milfredson may be the one for you:
Handsome Milfredson arrived shy but sweet. He is in a foster home where he is starting to come out of his shell as he not only accepts gentle pets but seems to enjoy them as he relaxes and closes his eyes as his foster family gently pets him. When they stop petting, he wants more. He will want a tranquil home where he feels safe and has time to check out all the new sounds, smells, and goings on around him. Once that is over and he trusts his new place, he will relax and chill out and cuddle next to his people. He will love and he will want love. Of course, he is litter trained. Milfredson will appreciate a patient and respectful adopter who will give him the time and space he needs to adjust into a new home. If you think you might be a good fit for this soon to be superstar, contact us and we will arrange for you to meet the formerly shy Milfredson.. Be sure to bring a cat carrier because you and Milfredson might go home together.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
