My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LOCATION: Dallas, TX
DOB 3/20/2024

Meet Lucy, a delightful Danedoodle with a fun-loving and smart personality. This playful pup loves her naps just as much as her bursts of energy. Lucy is incredibly affectionate, relishing couch cuddles and playtime with her favorite toys, particularly bones and squeaky toys.

Lucy’s endearing quirks include one ear that flips inside out and her long, lovely eyelashes that complement her sweet face. She’s a big fan of fetch and is always up for a good cuddle once she’s done playing.

Ideal for a home without cats, Lucy is good with other dogs but can be possessive or aggressive about toys and food. As a playful big puppy, she still jumps when overly excited and might take playful nips at hands or legs. A little training and calmness will help her settle down.

Lucy has some leash training but needs more, as she can get too excited and jump while on a walk. She’s very smart and eager to learn, having already mastered sitting clear of people’s meals and the command “sit.” She’s potty trained, though she gets a bit nervous with new yards and prefers someone to accompany her outside. There have been no accidents in the house, and she goes into her crate without any issues.

Overall, Lucy is a great, sweet, and smart puppy who will continue to blossom with love and training. She’s ready to bring joy and snuggles to her forever home. If you’re looking for a loving, playful companion who’s eager to learn and grow, Lucy is the perfect match!

All of our Great Danes are altered, if medically possible, fully vetted, micro-chipped, and on heartworm prevention or treatment prior to being adopted. Thank you for considering adopting a rescue dog, you're saving a life when you adopt.

More about this rescue

To rescue Great Danes from neglect, abuse, and abandonment while providing medical care and individual rehabilitation through our experienced and loving foster home program until we are able to provide each rescued Dane with a qualified, caring, and permanent home that will ensure a good quality of life they deserve.

To assist owners that cannot afford spaying, neutering or heartworm treatment as funds allow while also educating owners on affordable, local spay/neuter clinics, spay/neuter benefits, vaccinations, backyard breeding, behavior, nutrition, and obedience. Additionally, we want to be a link point to other rescues and clubs. Raising awareness around rescues and the Great Dane breed is of great importance to us.

We have been rescuing Great Danes since 2011 and we take pride in the collective love, concern, and dedication we have given to the misunderstood and forgotten Danes. It is our mission to continue to be the voices of the less fortunate Danes and to provide them safety and their birthright to a quality of life filled with love and dignity. You can help us achieve our mission by donating funds, items from our wishlist, items of relevance, your time through volunteering, or by lending your home as a foster.
